Fastest Way to Lose Weight
The fastest way to lose weight is to go on the show Survivor and starve for a month or so. Ok, kidding! But really, we should re-frame the question as “What is the fastest way to lose weight and look good naked.” The emphasis on looking good naked is because you don’t want to lose weight and get that ‘deflated’ look that some people get where they have almost no muscle tone on their body. This picture shows the difference between an Olympic pole vaulter’s butt, and a typical skinny person’s butt that only does cardio and/or diet to stay thin:

This picture shows the difference between a guy that is lean with a good amount of muscle, and a guy that is pretty lean without any muscle mass:

So now that we know we want to not just lose weight, but we want to lose weight and build up a little muscle tone so that we’re not only thin, but athletic. For most people, this is the ideal body type they are trying to achieve, with varying ideas of how much muscle is attractive. So how do you get there? The answer might surprise you.
You DO NOT need to do endless cardio. Cardio, such as running on a treadmill or using an elliptical, is great for overall cardiovascular health and building endurance. But it’s not the fastest way to lose weight, or the best way. Instead, you should be doing high intensity circuit training. Circuit training combines strengthening and toning muscles with cardio to produce the perfect blend of fat loss and muscle toning that creates a truly awesome body transformation. Movements such as pushups, situps, pull-ups, overhead presses, lunges, and a variety of others are performed one after the other in a circuit. This provides a total body workout that also burns fat like no other. And it produces the type of butt and abs shown in the pictures above on the left.
If you think about the average person on an exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical, they’re burning calories, but they’re not really toning much muscle. What you end up with even if you’re successful at losing some weight is guys with twiggy arms and women with flat saggy butts. Think about how a marathon runner looks, and you can see what you are training your body to become. Now look at the body of a sprinter. Sprinters train with short, high intensity workouts, just like circuit training.
Which one looks like a healthy athlete? Now, if you combine that type of workout with a lower calorie diet, you have the ultimate fat burning furnace in full blast. For tips on what to eat and tricks to help curb your appetite, check out our homepage for easy ways to lose weight.
